When we had our first "SKYPE" session with Charley this year, the students asked him in what ways we could support him and his team for the 2019 Iditarod. Charley said, "It might be nice to have some dog bandannas for the ceremonial start.". That was all it took! These lead dogs of mine were off to the races (I couldn't resist that pun), researching patterns, fabrics, and heat transfer vinyl. It was a process, with a lot of hands involved from Georgia to Virginia, but we all pulled together to make Charley's wish a reality. We think they turned out great and hope you enjoy seeing them on the dog team when they run the chute in Anchorage!
